The Distant Lamppost

The Distant Lamppost is the source of all light from the mountain peak. Tian is the last chosen by the Distant Lamppost to reach the valley on the other side, as he is guided by an elephant companion, Elo. While death and decay leave the mountain colorless, the valley is full of vibrance. Everyone journeys up the mountain but not everyone reaches the other side. There are dark forces at work to keep Tian from reaching the end. In his writings, he recounts his progress from the cold shadows of the mountain to the marvelous light of the Distant Lamppost.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Ricardo has provided his services in illustration and graphic design for nearly 10 years. He created a serialized comic titled BONEYARD and developed branding assets for Spiral Dreams LLC.
Since childhood, his affinity for science fiction and fantasy has fueled the subject matter tackled in his work. Growing up, the works of J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis left the greatest impression on his tastes in fantasy. Likewise, the original Star Wars film trilogy and video game series, Final Fantasy formed his approach to world building. Ricardo enjoys most any medium of storytelling, which expresses itself through his diverse works.
His science fantasy novella, ‘Corsair of Calamity’, marked his authorial debut as a self-published author. He also wrote and illustrated a cyberpunk comic short story titled, ‘Daybreak Dreamers’. Another example of his storytelling can be seen in a collectible card game he developed, ‘Heroes of Sencia’. All of which fall under an umbrella label of his known as Dos:Veinte.
