Beta reads are a brief review of your manuscript with limited feedback up to no more than four critiques. Beta reads are typically given in the early stages of the editing process after the final rough draft, and before submitting work to a publisher or agent.

Fee: $10 per 1,000 words

A Manuscript Evaluation is an assessment of an author’s manuscript that determines the authors strengths and weaknesses. This evaluation takes into account an author’s audience, and publishing goals. In my manuscript evaluations I will review the manuscript and give the author a report or summary that can include anything from plot, character development, or story structure.

Fee: $0.015 per word

The Developmental Edit, or Substantive Edit is the most expensive and crucial part of the editing process. This is the deepest evaluation of a manuscript and addresses story elements, plots, poor character development, and confusing dialogue.

Unlike the Manuscript Evaluation the Developmental Edit starts at the beginning of the manuscript and offers a detailed report of the authors story. The Developmental edit also involves coaching and consultations, a report, a story map and character sheets.

Fee: $0.025

Line Edits and Copy Edits are the last part of the editing process. In line edits I will review the manuscript sentence by sentence and make suggestions accordingly. In the copy-editing service I will correct grammar, punctuation, and any last touches to the manuscript.
